If you really want to hear about it

It’s no fun to be yellow. Maybe I’m not all yellow. I don’t know. I think maybe I’m just partly yellow and partly the type that doesn’t give much of a damn if they lose their gloves. One of my troubles is, I never care too much when i lose something… Some guys spend days looking for something they lost. I never seem to have anything that if I lost it I’d care too much. Maybe that’s why I’m partly yellow. It’s no excuse though. It really isn’t. What you should be is not yellow at all. If you’re supposed to sock somebody in the jaw, and you sort of feel like doing it, you should do it.

I was madly in love with the JD Salinger novel, The Catcher in the Rye, when I first read it in college so I made my web address named after its antihero, Holden Caulfield. If I could turn back time, I’d change the URL. I am now fully aware of the folly of naming one’s blog after Holden Caulfield or attaching any obvious aspect of Catcher to one’s blog since it makes one look like a stupid fool who didn’t know better than to name one’s blog after a much adored fictional character which people are going to find suspicious and corny years after the novelty of taking after one’s idol has waned. This is just a blog anyway but still! I’m so very sorry, dear Jerome David. I never meant to cheapen your novel, not that I take sole responsibility for everyone who has ever done so, for whatever holdencaulfdisming my blog has caused.
